To Friends and Foes Alike!

I know some of you will be huge supporters (no pun intended!) of my journey and some of you will judge me and say I'm taking the easy way out with this surgery. However, to those who don't support me I just want to say that until you have walked a mile in my shoes keep the mean comments away. You don't know me or know what I have done to fix this problem. To my supporters, I wish to say THANK YOU! Thank you for your love, your kindess, and your support of me during this crazy cool journey!

Cream of Wheat: Champion of My Heart!

So let me just start out by saying that this last week has been HELL! I have never felt so many crazy emotions and such intense pain. Now, let me clarify. I have pain because of a hetial hernia they had to fix while I was under, not from the surgery or the band. So far that has been just fine. It was a tough 2-3 days post op bending and getting comfy while I slept, but that has been fading and I'm starting to feel "normal" as far as the stitches and band go. What's killing me is the lack of energy! Although I've been losing weight faster than Lindsey Lohan fall off the wagon, I have had almost zilch, nada, zero, nothing in the energy department. I guess that's what you get when all you can eat is broth, sugar free jello, and flavored water for a week! But man is it killing me. I was supposed to wait unit Thursday to start my full liquid diet(adding milk, soup, protein shakes, yogurt, and cream of wheat to my nothing diet) I started it today. I was told after 0NE week of clear liquids I could go full liquids and so dammit I"m going to! :) AND SO I tried some milk. DID NOT GO OVER WELL! It seems I have become one of the 10% who get gastric surgery done that becomes lactose intolerant after surgery! Which let me tell you folks, for those of you who know me you know that I LOVE DAIRY! I hate that this is happening and I hope it fades with more time, but for now the lactose products are the bane of my existence! So what do I do now that 90% of my full liquid diet is lactose based you ask? Well, I have come to embrace the world of SOY! Yes, me, the queen of cheese and milk, have come to love Soy Milk! Maybe its out of desperation for something that isn't fruit flavored or broth that has made me find this new passion, but whatever it is, I am fully enjoying it! Now to the best part of the full liquid diet! To express my feelings I have composed the following letter:

DEAR CREAM OF WHEAT,
I cannot tell you how much our love affair these last 2 days has meant to me! You are my everything.I savor every moment of our time together. You are my champion, my savior, and my friend. I love you for you energy and fullness. Thank you so much for loving me back!

With ALL my love,

Stefanie

Well I think that about sums everthing up! Wish me luck for my Dr. Appt tomorrow for the results of my upper gi for my hernia. Much love and goodness!

PS: I have decided that I need to name my band. Any suggestions?
